The Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus - known as D'haus for short - is the largest spoken theater in North Rhine-Westphalia and is one of the most important theaters in the German-speaking world. The program includes drama, young drama and the Stadt:Kollektiv.
With its productions and diverse events, the D'haus is aimed at the entire diversity of urban society. The main venue is the Schauspielhaus on Gustaf-Gründgens-Platz. The curved white building designed by architect Bernhard Pfau is considered an iconic landmark of Düsseldorf. The venue of the Junges Schauspiel is located in Düsseldorf-Rath, the rehearsal and production center "Central" at Düsseldorf Central Station. It is managed by General Director Wilfried Schulz and Commercial Director Andreas Kornacki.
An ensemble of around fifty actors, numerous artistic guests and around 350 employees from art, technology, costume, make-up and administration bring around 900 performances to the stage every year. In the 2023/24 season, the highest audience figure in the past 35 years was achieved with 252,300 visitors.
