Since its opening in 1991, the Museum für Moderne Kunst (MMK) in Frankfurt am Main has been one of the world's most important addresses for contemporary art - despite its comparatively young existence. The striking triangular building with its striking sandstone façade was designed by Viennese star architect Hans Hollein and is considered an icon of postmodern museum design.

On three levels, the MMK presents over 5,000 works of international art from the 1960s to the present day - including highlights of Pop Art, Minimal Art, Conceptual Art as well as video and installation works. The collection includes masters such as Joseph Beuys, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Donald Judd and Gerhard Richter - supplemented by targeted new acquisitions from important private collections such as the Ströher and Ricke Collections.

The MMK also comprises two complementary locations: the Zollamt MMK near Domstraße for emerging positions, and the Tower MMK in the Taunus Tower, which has been in operation since 2014, with around 2,000 m² of additional exhibition space for socially relevant large-scale projects. As a place for artistic reflection, promotion and contemporary debate, the MMK sees itself as an experimental forum - not only for visual experiences, but also as a sensual space for thought. It regularly offers important retrospectives as well as ambitious group exhibitions and thematic temporary exhibitions.

The MMK combines impressive architecture, an outstanding collection and an inspiring program. Visitors immerse themselves in the vibrant world of contemporary art - between avant-garde, classics and newcomers - and experience Frankfurt from its most modern side.
