From nightclub to convent: the musical "Sister Act" brings the classic film of the same name back to Munich as a thrilling stage spectacle. After thrilling more than 100,000 visitors, the production will return to the Deutsches Theater München in 2026. Presented by ShowSlot in collaboration with Jamie Wilson Productions, this heavenly musical is a lively show full of humor, charming characters, and rousing music, in which two completely different worlds collide.

The story centers on nightclub singer Deloris van Cartier, whose life changes abruptly when she accidentally witnesses a murder. To protect her from the perpetrators, the police place her in the witness protection program in a convent, of all places. There, disguised as a nun, she is supposed to keep a low profile. But Deloris' spirited nature and her passion for music quickly bring a breath of fresh air behind the convent walls.

Although she is initially reluctant to adapt to the strict life of the religious community, Deloris soon discovers her new role: she takes over the leadership of the unimpressive church choir. With energy, humor, and a sense of rhythm, she gradually transforms the timid nuns into a rousing ensemble that causes a sensation far beyond the walls of the convent.

With its lively songs inspired by gospel, soul, and musical tradition, Sister Act tells a story about community, self-confidence, and the surprising power of solidarity. Between monastic discipline and musical freedom, the result is a humorous and touching evening of theater that shows how people can surpass themselves when they find their own voice.
