The Neubrandenburg Concert Church - formerly St. Mary's Church - is a fascinating example of the successful symbiosis of historical architecture and contemporary concert art. Originally built in the 13th century and largely destroyed during the Second World War, it was systematically rebuilt as a concert hall from 1975 onwards. Since its opening in 2001, it has been a modern music venue in a Gothic brick shell.
Inside, visitors can expect a spectacular "room within a room" hall made of glass, concrete, steel and wood with outstanding acoustics, offering a special sound stage for every genre - philharmonic orchestra, opera, musical, ballet or reading. There is space for up to 850 people, supplemented by wheelchair spaces for accessibility.
A special highlight is the tower area with the permanent exhibition "Paths to Brick Gothic" and a 360° multimedia projection in the octagon, which shows a historical view of Neubrandenburg around 1900. A 70-register concert organ inaugurated in 2017 also contributes to the variety of sounds.

The concert church is the regular venue of the Neubrandenburg Philharmonic Orchestra and a central venue of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, welcoming national and international ensembles, youth orchestras and e-musicals. The concert church makes history audible and visible - here, venerable brick Gothic merges with state-of-the-art concert architecture. It offers an impressive experience for lovers of acoustic highlights and historic spaces - a must for culture enthusiasts in the city of four gates.
