The Kunsthalle Düsseldorf is a place for artistic experiments and sensory experiences. The focus is on contemporary art since the 1960s and the observation of current developments. It sees itself as a base for artists and as a space for opportunities - with close links to the Düsseldorf art scene. At the same time, the Kunsthalle is dedicated to international trends and cooperates with regional art academies. The aim is to bring together local and global perspectives.

As a museum without its own collection, the focus is on observing current trends, artistic developments and social discourse. The thematic focuses arise from current social, cultural and aesthetic dynamics.

The program of the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf is characterized by versatility and multimedia. Exhibitions, interdisciplinary events as well as discursive and participatory formats stand side by side on an equal footing and promote new perspectives as well as active experience and participation. The Kunsthalle sees itself as a lively place for encounters with art - as a space for exchange, discussion and social reflection. It is a cultural meeting place that makes art tangible and brings people together.
