Music touches people, builds bridges with rhythms and onomatopoeia and overcomes boundaries, regardless of language, age or origin. In times of crisis and war, the Immling Festival 2024 relies on the power of music to promote humanity. Music is and makes "human". In the midst of the natural wonders of the Chiemgau Alpine idyll, all friends of music and theater are invited to leave everyday life behind. Good conversation, culinary delights and beautiful sunsets accompanied by high-quality music and culture make a visit to the festival an unforgettable experience.

Aida.Romeo and Juliet. The Threepenny Opera.
There are three in-house opera productions to choose from - opera lovers should not miss any of them. In keeping with the motto, the protagonists of the works must practice humanity and fight inhumanity with strength of character. And they do this in all interpersonal tones and variations, colorful and extremely passionate. Whether the Ethiopian king's daughter Aida, enslaved at the Egyptian court, who only found her destiny out of love when she died, the desperate lovers Romeo and Juliet or Mackie Messer, who is saved from execution by his friend: The Immling Festival has a powerful human touch.
Gustav Mahler's 5th Symphony, the musical highlight of the 2024 festival summer, fits perfectly into the
thematically perfectly into the program. Mahler used music to create a world of its own that reflects everything human and requires no words to understand. Conductor Cornelia von Kerssenbrock will bring Mahler's moments of human emotion to life with the Immling Festival Orchestra. Twenty years later, George Gershwin described a similar world in his works, and the Immling Festival is taking this as an opportunity to bring his Rhapsody in Blue and An American in Paris together with Mahler in a concert evening.
