"Tschick" is a road movie bursting with joie de vivre and at the same time a gripping coming-of-age story. Since its publication in 2011, "Tschick" has become one of the most popular novels for young people and has won numerous awards.

The late German writer, painter and cartoonist Wolfgang Herrndorf demonstrates his brilliant linguistic form, optimism and humor, which inspire young people and adults alike. The up-and-coming director Mira Stadler, who most recently worked at the Burgtheater in Vienna, brings Maik and Tschick's great journey to the stage with her ensemble.
Summer vacation at last! While his classmates go on a family vacation, fourteen-year-old Maik Klingenberg is alone in his large family home. His father is away with his assistant and his mother has had to go back to rehab. Just as the days in front of the TV and with snacks by the pool are getting boring, his new classmate Tschick suddenly appears at the garden gate in a stolen Lada. He wants to drive to Wallachia to visit his grandfather. And so the two of them set off on the adventure of a lifetime. Without a driver's license, but in high spirits. On the way, they are chased by police officers, experience previously unimaginable things, solve all kinds of problems and find a new friend in the extraordinary Isa. In short: Maik and Tschick are virtually invincible - at least for a while.
