Cello sounds and dramatic soundscapes: cellist Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt is the focus of the 3rd symphony concert with Khachaturian and Shostakovich - an exciting evening for music lovers.

The Saarland State Orchestra's 3rd symphony concert features a program full of intensity: Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt is the guest artist in focus and interprets Khachaturian's Concerto in E minor for cello and orchestra. The second part will feature Shostakovich's powerful 10th Symphony in E minor op. 93, a key work of the 20th century, permeated by caesuras, inner tension and dramatic tensions.

Under the direction of conductor Conrad van Alphen, orchestra and soloist explore the interfaces of virtuosity, expression and emotional depth. The combination of soloistic precision with the orchestral sound results in a concert evening that unites tonal colors, contrasts and structural power.

Be there - musically intense, formally stringent and emotionally moving - when the Saarland State Orchestra and Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt together set a symphonic highlight in the annual schedule.
