When Lake Neusiedl is shrouded in frosty mist and the light of the setting sun breaks into thousands of ice crystals, a magical time begins in Mörbisch am See. From November 22, 2025, the famous lake stage will be transformed into a radiant winter fairy tale for the second time - a unique Christmas experience that will bring a whole new shine to the Advent season with the world's largest nativity scene, musical staging, light art and culinary variety.

At the heart of the Winter Wonder is the monumental nativity scene by internationally acclaimed set designer Manfred Waba. At 90 meters wide and 18 meters high, he brings the backdrop of Bethlehem to life with dramatic grandeur and attention to detail - a visual masterpiece that combines sacred history, theatrical art and emotional depth. The loving depiction of the biblical scene makes visitors pause and marvel - not least thanks to the spectacular, hourly projection show by the Viennese media artist group Ochoresotto, which uses state-of-the-art mapping technology to stage the Christmas story in a moving way.

But the Winter Wonder Mörbisch is more than just a visual production - it is an experience for the whole family. Guests are greeted by a magical world of lights as soon as they enter the grounds: over 30 illuminated sculptures, romantic photo spots and illuminated paths transform the grounds into a sparkling sea of lights. The lovingly designed Christmas village awaits in this fairytale setting. Here, artisans from the region invite you to discover their works, while Burgenland specialties, mulled wine and punch provide culinary warmth.
Children can also experience the magic of Christmas in a very special way: A colorful program with magic shows, hands-on stations and lovingly curated children's activities is offered on the specially designed Advent stage. The musical experience is rounded off with atmospheric concerts - featuring regional artists, choirs and ensembles that accompany Advent on the lakeside stage.

A touching highlight is the Christmas radio play, narrated by the castle actors Nicholas Ofczarek and Tamara Metelka. It sets the emotional mood for the projection show and gives the Christmas story additional depth and warmth.
Winterwunder Mörbisch has succeeded in establishing a new cultural and family format that impressively combines tradition, art and technology. Between devotion and wonder, the scent of spices and mulled wine, the sound of music and children's laughter, a place is created where the spirit of Christmas unfolds in its most beautiful form.
