The Jewish Museum Frankfurt is an impressive building with two locations, covering around 800 years of Jewish history in Frankfurt and beyond. In the lovingly restored Rothschild Palace in the neoclassical style, visitors usually begin their tour on the upper floor - a clear, modern permanent exhibition spans the period from the Enlightenment around 1800 to the present day and combines historical rooms with living contemporary testimonies.

A modern light building was newly built according to plans by Staab Architekten, which offers the museum a spacious, light-filled temporary exhibition space. The architectural dialog between old and new creates a powerful architectural framework - with a foyer, lecture hall, library, museum store and the kosher-vegan Life Deli as an inviting meeting place.

A second exhibition site - the Museum Judengasse - right next to the Neuer Börneplatz memorial - illustrates Jewish life in the Middle Ages and early modern times using original archaeological finds. This special ensemble enables a direct examination of everyday Jewish history. The content is broadly diversified: it includes historical Judaica and documents, important family items (presented in the Frank Family Center, among other places), exile art, everyday Jewish culture, photo and document collections, a library and a strong educational and outreach program for all target groups.

The Jewish Museum Frankfurt combines impressive architecture, historical authenticity and depth of content. Whether in the elegant Rothschild Palace, in the open light building, in the archaeologically impressive Judengasse Museum or over a kosher snack in the Life Deli - the museum is a multifaceted place of learning, remembering and meeting in the middle of Frankfurt's museum landscape.
