When the light of late autumn softly shines over avenues and parks, when old walls seem to glow and the wind carries the scent of leaves and damp earth, then one of the most atmospheric times of the year begins in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: Schlösserherbst. From October 25 to November 9, 2025, numerous listed manor houses, manor houses and castles open their doors to let the cultural heritage of the state shine in a special light.

A multifaceted festival of music, art, culinary delights and history unfolds between vast landscapes, ancient giant trees and venerable facades. Visitors experience the special qualities of these places, which were once the center of large estates and are now filled with new life again. Each house tells its own story - of splendor and decay, of reconstruction, hope and passion.
The grand opening on October 25 at the Hohen Luckow manor house is an event of particular symbolic power. Here, where the Baroque still echoes in every stone, Prof. Dr. Sabine Bock, the renowned expert on Baltic manor house architecture, will guide visitors through rooms and eras. Her lecture "The Baltic Manor House" opens up a view of the cultural links around the Baltic Sea - a heritage that the Association of Palaces, Manor Houses and Manor Houses of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is keeping alive as part of a European project together with partners from seven countries.

The Schlösserherbst is a celebration of diversity:
The chamber concert in the baroque hall at Vietgest Castle, the magical dinner event at Viecheln Manor or the autumnal banquet at the half-timbered manor house Below show how differently the houses interpret their history. Art and culinary delights merge at Saunstorf Monastery, while Neuhoff Castle brings Latin American joie de vivre to the North German province with its "Día de los Muertos".
But it's not just the glamor that is on display, but also the way to get there: at Langwitz Estate, Broock Castle and Kaeselow Castle, guests can experience the restoration process up close - between scaffolding and new visions.

The estates of Landsdorf, Schmarsow and Gremmelin offer a hearty autumnal experience, with cooking courses, apple workshops and regional specialties to evoke the feeling of Thanksgiving. Wasserburg Liepen and Rattey Castle invite you to taste their own manufactory and wine products, while the gourmet festival "4x Köstlich" combines four cuisines on four evenings to create a culinary round dance.
The Schlösserherbst comes to a sonorous close with chansons from the 1920s, classical music and jazz in historic halls. And at the KunstGenuss event at Gutshaus Woserin on November 9, art, music, literature and culinary delights merge into a sensual finale - a feast for the eyes, ears, body and soul.
The Schlösserherbst in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is a tribute to the cultural memory of the state - to places that breathe history and tell of the future.
