At Theater Trier, cultural tradition merges with creative diversity: a lively three-genre theater that combines music, drama and dance with social openness.

In the heart of Trier, just a few steps away from the historic city center, stands a lively venue for the performing arts: Theater Trier. As a three-section theater, it combines musical theater, drama and dance - accompanied by the city's philharmonic orchestra. The repertoire includes over 50 productions per season, flanked by just as many accompanying formats such as concerts, workshops and cultural education. With a long history dating back to 1802, the theater has evolved through changing venues until the striking new building at the Augustinerhof in 1964. The theater building impresses with modern technology, a stage with a large span, elegant auditoriums and flexible venues such as the large house, studio stage and casino.

The theater is not only a stage, but also acts as a cultural compass: it combines classical music with contemporary repertoire, is committed to promoting young talent and is open to social debates. Its programs are deliberately aimed at an audience from the city, Eifel, Hunsrück, Moselle region and beyond.
