Lars Danielsson's trademark is his singing, warm, melodic, highly cultivated tone, which you recognize in seconds. With his extraordinary feel for melodies, which he developed during his classical cello training, the Swedish bassist has already wowed audiences at the Glocke on several occasions: with his own group, with 4 Wheel Drive or with Nils Landgren. His own quartet in particular, which has been playing together in this constellation for 10 years, functions like a finely interlocking set of gears with its captivating ensemble playing. Playfully, colorful sounds are formed into refined compositions, whose Scandinavian character is repeatedly interwoven with motifs from the Orient, the Mediterranean or the Caribbean through the improvisational freedom of jazz - expansive, lyrical and atmospherically incredibly dense!
