In December, the Halle Opera House is transformed into a magical realm full of music, magic and fairytale atmosphere. Engelbert Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel delights with its mixture of humorous folklore, symphonic splendor and timeless warmth. In the popular Halle production, the well-known fairy tale comes to life - with the children's choir, sand and dew men, a witch's ride and the popular songs "Brüderchen, komm tanz mit mir" and "Suse, liebe Suse, was raschelt im Stroh".
The audience accompanies the two siblings on their journey through the dark forest, encounters wondrous creatures and experiences how courage, solidarity and imagination can overcome even the most dangerous trials.
