Spectacular goals on the pitch, impressive choreography in the stands and matches whose winners will be sung about for years to come and whose losers will be mourned for a long time to come.
Derbies electrify the soccer nation, entire cities and regions - especially in the southwest with its numerous traditional clubs and former Bundesliga clubs such as 1 FC Kaiserslautern, Waldhof Mannheim, Karlsruher SC, controversial promoted teams such as TSG Hoffenheim or the former soccer greats Wormatia Worms or FK 03 Pirmasens. These are stories of tradition and emotion that are told from kick-off until well into injury time.
Signed jerseys of legendary derby heroes, gleaming trophies from the clubs' treasure troves or the sacred promotion turf: Every club cultivates its own myths and legends. We bring these stories to life on around 400 square meters. In terms of content, the exhibition builds a bridge from legendary south-west derbies through club and association history to women's and amateur soccer. Individual club portraits focus on the clubs themselves: well-known giants such as 1. FC Kaiserslautern, SV Waldhof Mannheim 07 or Karlsruher SC are just as much a part of the exhibition as the local clubs and their derbies.

The exhibition "Football fever. Derbies in the Southwest" is based on the exhibition "Football Fever. Soccer History(ies) from Rhineland-Palatinate", which was developed by the Directorate-General for Cultural Heritage Rhineland-Palatinate in cooperation with 1. FSV Mainz 05, 1. FC Kaiserslautern, the Fritz Walter Foundation, the German Football Museum, Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz GmbH, Südwestrundfunk (SWR), the Rhineland Football Association (FVR), the Southwest German Football Association (SWFV) and other partners. We are expanding this to include the history of some clubs on the right bank of the Rhine and focusing on derbies in the southwest.
