With the KinderKunstLabor, a new house for contemporary art will open in St. Pölten in June 2024. The building was designed by architects Schenker Salvi Weber. It is a meeting place for children, contemporary art and artists.

The KinderKunstLabor offers new experiences with and through contemporary art in exhibitions that change three times a year. The exhibitions are developed in a discursive process between the children, the artists, the artistic director Mona Jas and the KinderKunstLabor team. Children in and outside schools and kindergartens, children with their families, teenagers and adults are addressed, regardless of whether they know a lot or very little about art. A particular focus is on bringing children under the age of six into contact with contemporary art.
