A life for art in all its forms: On the occasion of his 95th birthday, the Kunsthalle Emden is paying tribute to Armin Mueller-Stahl with an exhibition that focuses on his multifaceted artistic work.
Actor, musician, painter and writer Armin Mueller-Stahl (*1930 in Tilsit) is one of the classic multiple talents in German cultural history. Painting, acting and playing music were part of everyday life in his family. From around 1951, he developed painting as an independent form of expression - in the same year that the future Hollywood star began taking acting lessons. Mueller-Stahl's artistic style is characterized by an unmistakable handwriting, confident strokes and a masterful use of color.
Parallel to his international acting career, he created an impressive body of visual work that has already been honored many times in exhibitions. The presentation invites visitors to discover the versatility of this extraordinary artist, who will celebrate his 95th birthday in December 2025. The show was created in collaboration with the Museum Schloss Moyland Foundation and the Opelvillen Rüsselsheim Art and Culture Foundation.
