Between the present and reflection: in the exhibition "Andrzej Steinbach. Here", a space opens up in the heart of Erfurt in which photography, object and moment redefine experience.
From December 14, 2025 to February 1, 2026, the Kunsthalle Erfurt will be showing works by the artist of the same name under the title "Andrzej Steinbach. Here", the Kunsthalle Erfurt will be showing works by the artist of the same name, who consciously illuminates his motifs and spaces - between image and reality, presence and emptiness. The exhibition invites visitors to discover the unfamiliar in the seemingly familiar: Everyday situations become places of attention through Steinbach's photographic and object-related interventions.
The works change our view: What is there? Who sees whom? Who is "here" and where does the "elsewhere" begin? These questions run through the exhibition and lead visitors on a quiet expedition - to moments that we usually overlook until they take on a new meaning in the light of a camera. With reduction, silence and an open gaze, Steinbach shows how photography and space interact to challenge our relationship to reality.
