A festival that redefines listening: Loud, quiet, irritating or gentle - MaerzMusik opens up spaces for experiments, thoughts and sound adventures.
Every year in March, MaerzMusik brings musicians, sound artists and composers from all over the world to Berlin. The festival takes place at various venues - from classical concert halls to churches, clubs or project spaces. Each venue changes the listening experience, each concert transforms perception and space.
The program is deliberately broad and thrives on diversity: it ranges from acoustic and electronic new music to performance, installations and sound art to experimental music theater and interdisciplinary formats. With this openness, MaerzMusik invites you to experience music not only as a finished work, but as a process - in the now, together with others and with all your senses.
Exchange also plays a major role: talks, discussion formats, workshops and open spaces for encounters make the festival a place where people not only play, but also think, ask and feel. This creates a platform where music, art and society meet and inspire each other.
Visitors can expect nothing here - and yet experience almost everything: Sound spaces, sound bodies, sound ideas. Those who enter MaerzMusik embark on a journey between structures and surprise, between silence and new beginnings, between established forms and new listening experiences.
