Eating is a sensual experience, a necessity of life and an everyday activity with underestimated socio-political explosive power. It also creates enjoyment and community, it is part of our culture and an expression of our lifestyle. Eating is a very personal act that also has an impact on ecology, economy, climate and politics worldwide. With the exhibition "FUTURE FOOD - Food for the world of tomorrow", the Museum Arbeitswelt addresses one of the most important questions of our time: How can the global food system become fairer, more sustainable and healthier?

The highly topical exhibition was conceived by the renowned Deutsches Hygienemuseum Dresden and expanded by the Museum Arbeitswelt to include the Austrian perspective. In four chapters, visitors follow the path of our food from the barn or field to the table. Guided by the questions: How can the food of the future be shaped by new ideas and processes? What possibilities do scientific and technical innovations offer? What can each and every one of us do? How will we eat in the future? What contribution can food make to sustainability and global justice? The exhibition "FUTURE FOOD - Food for the world of tomorrow" at the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum Dresden addresses these pressing questions in order to discuss a vision for a global, ecologically sustainable and just society. In walk-in visual and knowledge spaces, visitors approach sensual, aesthetic, cultural, scientific and political positions in dealing with food. In four chapters, the exhibition presents a comprehensive picture of the current food production system. Only an insight into the complex, qualitative, labor-intensive and resource-intensive processes involved in the production of food provides an understanding of the actual value of our food.
