The Danish Trio con Brio Copenhagen will perform at the Pierre Boulez Saal Berlin - with a program that oscillates between classical repertoire, contemporary music and a surprising sound language.
Trio con Brio Copenhagen has been one of the most influential ensembles on the European chamber music scene for over two decades. Their interpretations combine precision with lively energy, and it is the interplay between the three musicians that creates the mixture of transparency and intensity for which the trio is known.
In the Pierre Boulez Saal, this sound aesthetic meets a space that enables closeness: the elliptical architecture brings audience and stage together and turns chamber music into a communal experience. It is precisely here that the trio unfolds a program that combines the familiar and the new. Prokofiev's arrangements from Romeo and Juliet bring dramatic contrasts and rhythmic acuity, while Mendelssohn's Trio op. 66 contributes lyrical radiance and romantic elegance. The evening will be complemented by a new work by Danish composer Rune Glerup - a contemporary voice that enlivens the chamber trio with fresh ideas.
The result is a concert that juxtaposes different eras and shows how versatile the piano trio can sound today: concentrated, colorful and open to surprises.
