On the trail of global delights: In "Aufgetischt - eine kulinarische Weltreise" at the Pforzheim Jewelry Museum, food culture, art and history combine to create a sensual panorama - an experience for the eyes, palate and mind.

The exhibition "Aufgetischt - eine kulinarische Weltreise" takes visitors on a fascinating expedition through food and dining cultures from all over the world. On display are over 180 exhibits - from gold-decorated ceremonial bowls and a drinking vessel in the shape of a shoe to a Roman pocket knife - and thus evidence of how food, jewelry and everyday life have been interwoven for centuries.

Trade, conquests and migration processes enriched international menus with exotic fruits, spices and new foods - and at the same time changed customs, traditions and aesthetics. In the exhibition, we encounter ethnographic treasures, historical goldsmith's art, contemporary design and everyday objects that demonstrate that culture goes through the stomach: Culture goes through the stomach.

The design of the presentation allows for a diverse perspective: the objects are arranged spatially in such a way that not only the decorative aspects become visible, but also the utilitarian, eating and communication aspects - from the Baroque round table to today's snack culture. The exhibition is therefore not just a look at historical artifacts, but an invitation to reflect on our own table habits, values and cultural backgrounds.
In the historical ambience of the Reuchlinhaus, a dialogue between art and everyday life, between ornament and function, between pleasure and ritual opens up. Visitors are invited to be generous and curious - because: Everything often begins with a laid table and a story that wants to be told.
