The prince's son Edwin Lippert-Weylersheim wants to marry the famous chansonnier Sylva Varescu. Unheard of for his aristocratic parents. They pull out all the stops to prevent the marriage. Kálmán rose to become one of the most popular operetta composers with his Csárdásfürstin , which premiered in 1915. He masterfully mixes the free spirit of Hungarian folklore with the bliss of the Viennese waltz to create a work full of comedy and catchy tunes.
