At the Alte Oper Frankfurt, a new festival called Podium Zukunft (Podium Future) is putting young musicians in the spotlight: the youth orchestra festival is turning the stage and the Great Hall into a meeting place for young ensembles from the region, Germany, and abroad.
Podium Zukunft is the first of its kind in Frankfurt and provides a platform for local ensembles as well as international groups, including outstanding youth orchestras from Brazil and South Africa, which can be heard for the first time at the Alte Oper. The encounter between these diverse musical cultures reveals what drives young musicians: making music together as an expression of energy, a joy of experimentation, and a fresh artistic spirit.
The festival asks questions that are important for the future of music: What inspires the next generation of orchestral creativity? What perspectives do young talents have on the concert life of tomorrow? Over the course of several evenings, different orchestras fill the hall with their own musical and expressive language, creating a forum for exchange, inspiration, and shared experiences.
Podium Zukunft transforms the Alte Oper into a place where musical curiosity and youthful enthusiasm can be heard—a festival that focuses on the next generations of classical music and gives them a visible and audible presence with their own stage.
