Perched high up on the rock above the Zschopau river, it is Saxony's most beautiful knight's castle.

As an enclosed, fully preserved and completely renovated building from the late Gothic period, Kriebstein Castle captivates visitors today. A visit to the monumental residential tower, from the deepest cellar to the historically preserved attic floors, is a must. The fully painted Kriebstein Room from around 1423 is well protected inside - thanks to a special guided tour, its door is also open to curious guests.

Whether it's a medieval festival, a "castle of fairy tales", rock concerts, stylish knights' dinners or eerily mysterious guided tours through ancient walls - this gem in the middle of Saxony brings the Middle Ages back to life.
