With its 23rd edition, art karlsruhe invites the international art world to Messe Karlsruhe again next year from February 5 to 8, 2026.

Art lovers will discover the broad spectrum of artistic perspectives and exciting juxtapositions that are characteristic of the art fair - from top-class classical modernism, concrete art and pop art to contemporary art. In Hall 1, classical modernism will be shown in dialog with current positions, in Hall 2 guests can expect works from the post-war period and the present, and in the dm-arena the focus will be on contemporary art. With impressive sculpture spaces, another traditionally important focus is on three-dimensional art. Since the beginning of art karlsruhe, they have formed the installative center of the fair. On spacious areas, presentations that go beyond the classic exhibition stand set striking accents.

Strong formats meet the challenges of the art market
art karlsruhe meets the challenges and issues of the art industry with strong formats. One example of this is re:discover, which focuses on artists whose careers have been interrupted. The aim is to give these positions the visibility and recognition they deserve in the art market. re:discover is produced with funding from the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM) and in cooperation with the Bundesverband Deutscher Galerien und Kunsthändler e.V. (BVDG). re:discover is complemented by re:frame, which was first launched in 2025. This is a practical and pioneering demonstration of how estates can be handled responsibly and with an eye to the future. Questions relating to the preservation, visibility and appreciation of artistic heritage not only concern gallery owners, but also extend far into society.
