The Beethoven-Haus Bonn is known worldwide as the birthplace and memorial of Ludwig van Beethoven - at the same time a museum, research center, concert venue, library and publishing house. It was founded in 1889 and has been continuously expanded and modernized ever since.
The museum has been housed in the historic home at Bonngasse 20, a bourgeois building from the 18th century, since 1893. Originally furnished rooms, including Beethoven's birth room, impressively convey the atmosphere of his early years. A modern permanent exhibition invites visitors to explore original manuscripts, instruments, letters and interactive stations. Instead of a purely chronological presentation, the exhibition focuses on themes that appeal both emotionally and intellectually.

Adjacent to the museum is the Beethoven Archive, an internationally renowned research center, as well as the Hermann-J.-Abs Chamber Music Hall, which regularly hosts concerts with renowned artists. The museum also houses its own library, a publishing house and extensive collections.
With over 1,000 original manuscripts, hundreds of letters, pictorial documents and instruments, the Beethoven-Haus houses the world's largest collection on the life and work of the composer. Barrier-free access, digital offerings, a museum store and a café also make the visit particularly attractive for families and international guests. A visit to the Beethoven-Haus Bonn is an inspiring excursion into the history of music - authentic, varied and full of cultural depth.
