The Jewish Museum Munich on St. Jakobs-Platz is a lively center of Jewish history, culture and the present - embedded in an extraordinary ensemble of synagogue, community center and the museum itself.
Opened in 2007, the building tells the multifaceted history of the Jewish community in Munich on around 900 m² of exhibition space through the permanent exhibition "Voices_Places_Times". This is divided into seven thematic installations in which the voices of contemporary witnesses, rituals, everyday objects, photographs and multimedia formats provide fascinating insights.

The freestanding museum is architecturally impressive, designed as a clear cube with a transparent first floor and mighty travertine façades. Together with the Ohel-Jakob Synagogue and the community center, it forms a highly symbolic ensemble that underscores its urban significance with translucent connections and a careful choice of materials. The profile is complemented by regularly changing special exhibitions that focus on contemporary references, Bavarian Jewish life and global experiences. The museum also offers workshops, guided tours, a specialist archive and a café - ideal for families, school groups and visitors interested in culture. The free guides are available for discussions about Jewish religion, cultural diversity and migration.
Its central location, just a few minutes' walk from Marienplatz, makes the museum a fascinating cultural destination during a tour of the city. Anyone who wants to learn about Jewish history in Munich and its vibrant present will find a modern, open and emotionally appealing place to meet here - a real highlight in the heart of the city.
