The phanTECHNIKUM - Technisches Landesmuseum Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in Wismar is an exciting technology and innovation center that presents itself on around 3,500 m² of exhibition space. Housed in the historic barracks building, the interactive permanent exhibition is structured according to the four elements of fire, water, air and earth, creating a holistic approach to the history of technology and natural phenomena.
Particularly impressive: an original ejection seat, a historic glider and exhibits from aviation, shipbuilding, communication and energy generation. Numerous experimental stations invite children, families and young researchers in particular to join in and be amazed - technology you can touch, understand and experience. The offer is complemented by changing special exhibitions on regional inventions and historical engineering achievements, such as the life's work of Gottlob Frege. Accompanying programs with guided tours, workshops and digital mediation formats round off the offer and enable a lively dialogue between technology and society.
The phanTECHNIKUM offers a unique blend of museum expertise and experience center. The history of technology can be experienced and grasped here - in a sustainable, interactive and family-friendly way. A special highlight of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's cultural landscape that invites visitors to both explore and enjoy.
