The heart of Koblenz's cultural scene beats in the only classicist theater on the Middle Rhine: Theater Koblenz combines historical architecture with modern multi-genre art and inspires with great diversity and a lively culture of communication.

The Theater Koblenz, located not far from the Electoral Palace, is the only surviving classical theater on the Middle Rhine - and one of the oldest in Germany. Since its opening in 1787, it has developed into a versatile multi-genre theater that combines drama, musical theater, ballet and puppetry under one roof. With around 200 permanent employees from around 23 nations and 27 different professions, the theater has strong regional and international roots.

The program impresses with around 25 premieres per season - from ancient tragedies and baroque operas to world premieres and contemporary formats. Children's and youth theater, mobile productions (e.g. in schools or kindergartens), workshops, readings and backstage tours make the theater a lively center for the performing arts. The theater is also creative during the construction work: temporary venues such as the theater tent on the fortress plateau and the Rhein-Mosel-Halle ensure that the desire for theater in Koblenz and the region remains unbroken.
