Theater Vorpommern is a fascinating multi-genre theater that plays an outstanding regional and artistic role in the cultural landscape of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Greifswald is home to the Grosses Haus, a neoclassical building from 1915 with around 435 seats, which houses opera, drama, ballet and symphony concerts - supplemented by capacity in the Stadthalle during ongoing renovation work. Finally, Putbus impresses as a classicist summer theater (1819-1821) with a historical aura, which is now used as an iconic venue for events such as the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival.
In addition to the opera choir and philharmonic orchestra, the ensemble also includes the Vorpommern Ballet, a dedicated team of actors and a young theater, which lives participation and mediation in a playful way. Over 30 premieres are presented each year, including interactive formats such as "After-Work-Lounge", workshops and open-air plays - diversity that inspires audiences and makes theater a new experience.
