With its centuries-old tradition, the Basel Autumn Fair is a living cultural asset of the city of Basel. As the largest amusement fair in Switzerland and one of the largest inner-city fairs in Europe, it delights young and old alike. From Barfüsserplatz to Messeplatz, from Petersplatz to the cathedral: you can experience breathtaking rides, traditional fair booths and nostalgic attractions at seven locations.

Saturday, October 25, 2025, marks the start of the Basel Autumn Fair. Switzerland's largest amusement fair will present around 470 rides, stalls and stands this year - including many new attractions. But well-known classics will also provide plenty of fun and entertainment on seven squares in Basel's city center.
Florian von Bidder, who acts as the fair bell ringer, will ring in the Basel Autumn Fair 2025 on Saturday at 12 noon sharp in the Martinskirche tower. Before the bell rings, the President of the Government, Dr. Conradin Cramer, will give a welcome address on Martinskirchplatz and balloons will be distributed to the children. This year, the Basel Autumn Fair will run until November 9, with the Hääfelimäärt on Petersplatz lasting until November 11. On seven squares in Basel's city center, many rides, toy stores, tasty food stands, over 60 confectionery stands and over 200 trade stands ensure a colorful hustle and bustle.

Highlights include the 85-metre-high "Aeronaut" chain carousel, which makes the dream of flying come true in iconic steampunk style on the Kasernenareal, and the "Air Jump" round ride on the Kasernenareal: twelve gondolas move both horizontally and vertically, giving riders the feeling of free fall again and again.
Lovers of tried-and-tested rides will also get their money's worth at this year's Autumn Fair. The classics include the "Bellevue" Ferris wheel on Münsterplatz, the "Polyp" on Messeplatz, the "Swing Up" on Rosentalanlage, the "Break Dance" on Kasernenareal and the "Calypso" and "Tagada" in the exhibition hall. On Barfüsserplatz is the classic "Kamikaze" high ride, which was already at the Basel Autumn Fair in the 1990s.
In addition to rides and games, the Basel Autumn Fair 2024 will also feature over 360 trade, confectionery and food stands. St. Peter's Square is home to the "Handwerkerdörfli", where six stand operators will be demonstrating their craft skills in glass processing, ointment making and old printing processes and inviting visitors to join in. Among the food offerings, the "Food Tram" stands out with stuffed toasts and delicious beef baguettes. Tacos la Piratita" and "Giuri Gourmet Arancini" are also back at the fall fair.
