The Deutsche Oper am Rhein with its two main venues - the Düsseldorf Opera House and the Theater Duisburg - is one of the most important music theatres in Europe. Opera, ballet, concerts and new formats come together here at the highest artistic level. Around 600 employees from 40 nations work together to create a diverse program that arouses emotions, inspires and stimulates thought.

The DOR is the artistic home for the largest ensemble of singers in the German-speaking world, the internationally acclaimed Ballett am Rhein with 45 dancers, the opera choir and two partner orchestras: the Duisburg Philharmonic and the Düsseldorf Symphony Orchestra. There are also innovative projects for young audiences and numerous international guest artists.

In a creative cosmos on the pulse of time, operas and ballet productions are created here that combine tradition and the present. The DOR sees itself as an open place for encounters, shared experiences and social reflection. Every performance is the result of trusting cooperation between all the trades - from the stage and technology to the artistic direction.

With the planned construction of the new opera house in Düsseldorf and the renovation of the theater in Duisburg, new spaces for the arts will be created in the coming years. The focus is also on sustainable action - ecologically, socially and economically. Deutsche Oper am Rhein is a strong voice for music theater of the future - in the heart of the city, open to all.
