The Kunsthalle Osnabrück is located in the heart of Osnabrück in an impressive building that was once a Gothic Dominican church and part of a medieval monastery complex. Since the early 1990s, the former monastery church has been converted into an exhibition space for contemporary art, thus combining historical architecture with modern exhibition influences in a remarkable way.

The museum complex covers around 1,500 m², of which around 665 m² is taken up by the nave and other rooms such as the vestibule and cloister. The high vaults of the nave let in plenty of daylight and offer ideal conditions for large-scale installations, sculptural works or immersive spatial works. The环cloister sections serve as neutral "white cube" spaces for smaller, concentrated positions. The architecture and exhibition deliberately complement each other and offer artists an extraordinary setting.

The Kunsthalle exclusively presents changing exhibitions of regional, national and international artists. Each year, the program is based on a central theme - currently "Romanticism" - which is reflected in solo and group exhibitions. The exhibited works range from installation, sculpture and painting to photography, video and performance art and reflect contemporary artistic discourse.

The Kunsthalle also sees itself as an open place for encounters. Public guided tours, workshops for children and young people as well as performative evenings and discussion formats enrich the visitor experience beyond the exhibitions themselves. The museum is open Tuesdays to Sundays. With its architectural uniqueness, programmatic aspirations and open, inclusive approach, the Kunsthalle Osnabrück offers a lively stage for contemporary art and successful cultural mediation - an inspiring place for art lovers and the curious alike.
