Leica Welt in the Leitz Park in Wetzlar is a multifaceted experience and inspiration space for photography - brand new, interactive and modern. Visitors gain insights into the legendary Leica manufactory, explore changing photo exhibitions in the Ernst Leitz Museum and immerse themselves in optical phenomena that they can playfully test themselves - from focus and color to light, shadow and movement.

Four experience areas are presented on around 600 m², in which audiovisual installations, touch stations and hands-on modules open up creative approaches to visual curiosity. One highlight is a minimalist light installation - the stylized Leica silhouette can only be seen from the right angle. It represents the aesthetics, design history and technical heritage of the brand.

The centerpiece is the Ernst Leitz Museum with a selected presentation of iconic Leica cameras "36 out of 100" and the renowned workshop book by Oskar Barnack, in which construction drawings and the origins of 35 mm photography can be traced. The offer is complemented by the Leica Gallery Wetzlar, which is located in the important Leica flagship store. Exhibitions by great photographers, including winners of the Leica Oskar Barnack Award, alternate here.

Outdoor fans will get their money's worth at "CITY PORTRAITS: Walk with the Leica Akademie" - a unique open-air photo exhibition in the Leitz Park forest. The Leica World combines modern architecture, interactive knowledge transfer and outstanding photography. Whether analog or digital - here you can trace the soul of photography, experience technology and history at first hand and at the same time be inspired to your own creativity.
