galerie gugging is one of the world's most important venues for the presentation and creation of unspoiled, original art with its own formal language. The French artist Jean Dubuffet defined this style as Art Brut.
For 29 years now, the gallery has been exhibiting works by Gugging artists and their international artist colleagues with the aim of making their work more visible in the context of contemporary art and promoting previously unknown artists. What many people don't know is that the Gugging artists are the real bosses in this unique constellation as owners of the gallery. The galerie gugging team works with joy, appreciation and know-how to strengthen its national and international appeal and to accompany art lovers and collectors as partners in their passion.

The galerie gugging - a hot spot of the Art Brut scene - has always been a place of encounter and artists such as David Bowie, Loys Egg, Constantin Luser, Peter Pongratz, Arnulf Rainer, Gerhard Roth, Daniel Spoerri and London fashion designer Christopher Kane have been inspired by the Gugging artists. Since 2018, artworks by Leopold Strobl have been a permanent part of the collection of the Museum of Modern Art New York (MoMA); in addition, the Gugging artists can also be seen regularly in Austrian museums such as the Albertina, the Belvedere, the Landesgalerie Niederösterreich and the mumok.
In December 2021, galerie gugging vienna with Marco Simoni's Bastei10 opened its doors in the heart of Vienna's city center - another Art Brut hot spot in the middle of the first district. With this unique, modern concept of a gallery of the senses, which has never been seen before internationally, a bridge is being built from Maria Gugging to Vienna to bring new customers closer to the world of Gugging artists and create a very special place for encounters and exchange.
