The ALBERTINA Museum is one of Austria's leading art museums, open 365 days a year. It is our aspiration and goal to be up-to-date, relevant and attractive to the public with all our activities. In our work, we focus on the expectations and needs of our visitors, their personal experience and the sensual-intellectual experience of art.
The Albertina is one of the most important art museums in Europe and is home to one of the world's largest collections of graphic art. Founded in the 18th century, the collection comprises over one million drawings and prints from the late Gothic period to the present day. Masterpieces by artists such as Dürer, Michelangelo, Rembrandt, Klimt, Schiele and Picasso provide a unique overview of 600 years of art history.
The museum is housed in the magnificent Palais Erzherzog Albrecht in the center of Vienna. In addition to the graphic art collection, the Albertina also exhibits important works of classical modernism, for example in the internationally renowned Batliner Collection - with works from Monet to Picasso.
With the Albertina Modern, the spectrum was expanded to include contemporary art, and since 2024 the Albertina Klosterneuburg has complemented the range with art after 1945. With over 1.3 million visitors a year, the Albertina is one of the most visited museums in Austria and a central attraction for art lovers in Vienna.
