With "GEFÄSS | SKULPTUR 4", the GRASSI Museum of Applied Arts Leipzig presents an impressive show of contemporary ceramic art - from 1946 to the present day.
The Museum of Applied Arts has already dedicated three major and highly acclaimed exhibitions to artistic studio ceramics. This is because it is one of the museum's fastest-growing and internationally top-class collection areas. Many outstanding new additions from numerous donations in recent years now provide the occasion for another edition of the continuing exhibition GEFÄSS | SKULPTUR, which will be on display in the Pfeilerhalle from November 9, 2025. It traces artistic developments from 1946 to the present day and explores the aesthetic dichotomies of ceramic works, their formal power and the beauty of their glazes - always exploring the relationship between vessel and sculpture.
