"Magic of the Revue" transports you to the glamorous world of the 1920s - porcelain boxes with dance and vaudeville motifs reflect the rhythm, elegance and cultural upheaval of an entire era.

In the Roaring Twenties, revue and variety shows shaped the attitude to life in the big cities - especially Paris and Berlin. They stood for a newfound freedom and were popular motifs in magazines and on postcards. Dancers in fashionable costumes, with cigarette holders, modern hairstyles, glitter or feathers embodied the cultural spirit of optimism of the time. The porcelain manufacturers of the 1920s also picked up on this trend. On display are boxes from the collection of Prof. Peter Schatt - including unusual pieces from the French company Robj.
