An African adventure full of music: Disney's "The Lion King - In Concert Live To Film" at the KKL Luzern fuses film classics with a live orchestra to create an unforgettable experience.
When the first notes of "Circle of Life" ring out and the endless expanse of the savannah lights up on the screen, a very special evening begins at the KKL Luzern: the Disney classic "The Lion King" is shown in full length - accompanied by the live 21st Century Orchestra & Chorus under the direction of Ludwig Wicki. This production combines the emotional power of the film with the immediate presence of an orchestra and choir, with over 150 performers providing goosebump-inducing moments.
Hans Zimmer's award-winning soundtrack - complemented by songs such as "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" and "Hakuna Matata" - unfolds a new dimension in the KKL's acoustic space. The familiar story of the lion cub Simba and his path to destiny tells of friendship, courage and loss - and is transformed here into a multi-layered experience through sound, space and image.
Those who experience this evening take away more than just music and movement: They listen to a story that connects generations, experience a fusion of Cinemascope and concert hall and leave the auditorium with the feeling of having gone on a journey through light, sound and image.
