The exhibition provides an insight into the areas of farewell, burial, concepts of the afterlife and remembrance and commemoration.
Ideas about the afterlife and the associated customs and rituals have always changed over the course of human history. The exhibition shows the changing meaning of reverence - the approach to dying, death and remembrance in Burgenland from prehistoric times to the present day.
This exhibition is not only a historical reflection, but also an examination of the universal themes of life, death and remembrance that affect each and every one of us. It invites reflection and allows visitors to make a deep connection to the diverse traditions and belief systems that shape the way we deal with the end of life.
