The theater festival has been attracting theater fans to Telfs in Tyrol every summer since 1982. From classic productions to world premieres, the annually changing program guarantees a unique experience. The new production of "7 Deadly Sins" in 2023 will also be staged at the Birkenberg venue in 2024 under the artistic direction of Gregor Bloéb. New to the program: Heinrich von Kleist's comedy "The Broken Jug". In addition to these major productions, readings, concerts and more will round off the 2024 festival summer.

Due to overwhelming demand, there will be a further development of the star-studded revue "The 7 Deadly Sins" with texts by Hubert Sauper and Johannes Schmidl, Calle Fuhr, Helena Adler, Felix Mitterer, Lisa Wentz, David Schalko and Uli Brée at the magical Birkenberg venue in July 2024.
Following on from last season's "sinful" theme, next year's program of the Tiroler Volksschauspiele will focus on guilt and atonement, law and justice, lies and truth. "To stumble, you need nothing but feet", says Heinrich von Kleist's hellish comedy "The Broken Jug", which the celebrated director Anna Bergmann will stage on Eduard-Wallnöfer-Platz with a brilliant ensemble. A public day in court, hilarious and abysmal at the same time. Thrilling theater for everyone, right in the heart of Telfs. With Tobias Moretti, Harald Schrott and Corinna Harfouch, the brilliant cast of this year's main production of the Tiroler Volksschauspiele has also been confirmed.

After the sold-out "Narrentanz", the village stages will of course also be back in action. In cooperation with the Theater Verband Tirol, Thomas Gassner will this time be adapting Sepp Schluiferer's highly controversial satire "Fern von Europa" for the stage. Here, too, we are confronted with a public trial in which "Tyrol without a mask" - the subtitle of Schluiferer's work - is revealed.
Sometimes, however, the trial turns out to be an almost unmanageable marathon with an uncertain outcome, as in Franz Kafka's epochal novel fragment "The Trial", which is presented in a seven-hour all-star reading in the Great Hall of the Town Hall one hundred years after the author's death. "The lie is made the world order", protagonist Josef K. exclaims at one point - and that's not the only reason why the text seems so movingly topical.
What will be extensively celebrated on August 9 in a spectacular festival concert with "Dicht & Ergreifend", "Django 3000" and "Von Seiten der Gemeinde" in the Kuppelhalle begins with a ceremonial opening act for everyone on July 6, 2024, directly before the annual Telfer Dorffest.
