"Christine Elefant-Kedl has made a name for herself in Burgenland as a subtle painter of predominantly organic forms and sensually captured landscapes. She finds her subjects in southern Burgenland, but also repeatedly on trips to exotic countries." (Günter Unger about the artist)
Her graceful nature and plant watercolors stand in contrast to the metal works of her late husband Rudolf Kedl and her son Talos. With a playful lightness, Christine Elefant-Kedl captures flower meadows, trees, exotic floral dreams or snow-covered branches on paper and canvas. Her vegetal plant formations glow in vibrant shades of red, green and yellow. Gnarled tree trunks seem to bundle the entire color spectrum of sunlight and shine in strong colors. In contrast, snow-covered leafless branches stand out in cool, muted shades of blue. Only the ripe berries stand out in red.
Christine Elefant Kedl studied painting at the Vienna Academy under Heinz Leinfellner. She finds inspiration for her work on her numerous cultural and study trips, including to exotic countries. Her works can be found in collections at home and abroad. Exhibitions have taken her to Hungary, Germany, Canada, Japan, Turkey and Switzerland. Christine Elefant-Kedl is the good spirit in the Kastell Markt Neuhodis, which is surrounded by an extensive sculpture park.
