With this production, director François De Carpentries continues his successful cycle of Mozart operas and invites us to immerse ourselves in that imaginative world that tells so poetically of courage, truth, wisdom and love.
Mozart's "The Magic Flute" is an extraordinary stroke of genius. Like in hardly any other opera, music and text combine to form such an irresistible unity and are able not only to inspire audiences for centuries, but also to cast a spell over people of all ages. Which is not surprising, as the adventure that makes Tamino and Papageno friends is an incredibly exciting one. For noble reasons, the two set off to rescue the kidnapped Princess Pamina, but soon realize that the Queen of the Night is merely using them to put an end to her adversary Sarastro.
