Picasso", the LWL Museum of Art and Culture in Münster presents an exciting juxtaposition of two masters who had a decisive artistic influence on the early 20th century - each in their own way, but with astonishing parallels.

From the hustle and bustle of the big city to the intimacy of the studio and the tranquillity of the mountains: at the beginning of the 20th century, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and Pablo Picasso were witnesses to a new era and their works tell of new beginnings, crises and passion. The exhibition "Kirchner. Picasso" at the LWL-Museum für Kunst und Kultur in Münster is the first to focus comprehensively on these two unique artists and their surprising parallels. Although they never met in person, they converged in their visual worlds and styles. 100 works from major European museums show the similarities and contrasts between two of the most important artists of modernism.

The exhibition invites visitors to rediscover the stylistic proximity, thematic overlaps and individual styles of Ernst Ludwig Kirchner and Pablo Picasso.
