When the sun barely sets in June and a golden light lies over the vast fields of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the most magical time of the year begins: the MidsummerRemise. On this weekend, when day and night are almost equal, over seventy manors, manor houses and castles throughout the state open their doors - for a celebration of light, history and culture.

From June 20 to 21, 2026, the cultural heritage festival invites you on a summer journey through the region's rich architectural heritage. Under the motto "Between park and splendor", the MidsummerRemise will take visitors on a fascinating chapter of northern German cultural history - into the world of Baltic manor houses, which shaped social, economic and artistic life for centuries.

Here, where avenues of lime trees lead to neoclassical façades, where baroque staircases shimmer in the evening light and the traces of times past gently merge with the new life of the present, history becomes tangible. Whether magnificently restored or still shrouded in the charm of decay, each house tells its own story: of splendor and decay, of upheavals, new beginnings and the unwavering love of their current owners for this heritage.
Culturally and atmospherically, the MidsummerRemise is like a country tour full of discoveries. Visitors can stroll through old parks, explore hidden rooms, take part in guided tours, concerts and readings or listen to stories that unfold between the centuries over a glass of wine in the courtyard. In the midst of this backdrop, encounters are created - between hosts and guests, between past and present, between people who preserve and revive the country's historical heritage.

Some houses seem like something out of a dream - surrounded by enchanted gardens where roses bloom and old oak trees provide shade. Others surprise with modern art, creative studios or culinary specialties that make the spirit of the place tangible in a sensual way. There is music in the air everywhere: classical sounds, soft guitars, perhaps the laughter of a summer evening.
The MidsummerRemise is more than just a festival - it is a declaration of love to the country and its history. An invitation to experience the light of the north, to discover what is hidden and to linger in a special moment in which culture, nature and community come together in a unique way.
A weekend that shines - between past and present, between heaven and earth, between day and night.
