A mysterious Christmas Eve, a glittering tree and a special gift: a night that changes everything begins for Clara. The nutcracker she receives for Christmas opens the door to a wondrous world where toys come to life, armies of mice fight, snowflakes dance and dreams come true.
Choreographer Kaloyan Boyadjiev gives the popular classic a new freshness. With a sensitively modernized dance idiom and a set that is in love with detail, the result is a ballet that lets the magic of Christmas shine in new splendour. Under the musical direction of Matthias Foremny and Yura Yang, Tchaikovsky's immortal music unfolds in all its splendor. Thus, "The Nutcracker" becomes a fairytale journey through wishes, desires and the power of the imagination - a timeless ballet that enchants young and old again and again.
