A time-travel adventure for all the senses: "A Planet Before Our Time: Dinosaurs – The Immersive Experience" transforms Hamburg's Port of Lights into a prehistoric world full of giants, landscapes, and primeval atmosphere.

Starting on December 13, 2025, the Port des Lumières digital art center in Hamburg's HafenCity will invite visitors to enjoy an extraordinary experience. With "A Planet Before Our Time: Dinosaurs – The Immersive Experience," visitors will be immersed in an era that dates back 66 million years. Large-format projections, expansive soundscapes, and detailed animations create a world in which enormous dinosaurs, primeval vegetation, and dramatic natural phenomena seem almost tangible.

The immersive show is based on the idea of combining scientific findings with cinematic storytelling. This brings panoramic prehistoric worlds to life: tropical forests, volcanic landscapes, vast plains, and oceans teeming with life. The dinosaurs appear impressively lifelike—from the mighty Tyrannosaurus rex to delicate, bird-like species that illustrate the evolutionary history of Earth.

The exhibition is aimed at all age groups and thrives on its blend of wonder, learning, and digital art. The experience is complemented by interactive elements such as the Kids' Atelier, where younger guests can immerse themselves creatively in the world of dinosaurs. For adults, too, there is an impressive interplay of image, space, and sound that blurs the boundaries between documentation and art installation.

"A Planet Before Our Time" is a highlight of the winter season in Hamburg – a fascinating journey for families, dinosaur fans, and anyone who loves immersive experiences. A visit that broadens your horizons and gives you a sense of how strange and yet beautiful the Earth once was.
