The Salzkammergut is getting a new lake stage. In spring 2024, the play "Wolf ≈ The Mystical" will be performed on Lake Wolfgang for the first time. Born in 924, this is the 1100th anniversary of St. Wolfgang's birthday. Reason enough to dedicate a piece to him. The world premiere of the music theater piece on 23 May 2024 opens up a new cultural dimension in the Wolfgangsee region.

Based on the libretto by Franzobel, composer Gerd Herrmann Ortler presents great music theater, his first Mystical. The piece "Wolf ≈ Das Mystical" addresses the big questions of human existence and deals with the life of St. Wolfgang. The play aims to entertain and at the same time promote respect for life. It shows the inner conflict between hedonism and contemplation based on Wolfgang's life story. The production is intended to be poetic and humorous and to inspire the audience.
18 actors, actresses and 12 musicians will bring prominent characters to the stage. The result is a world of mystical theater and entertaining musical - a Mystical! The new Salzkammergut lake stage on Lake Wolfgang, a mobile, flexible "Art Machine" by architect Eduard Neversal, can be experienced at the same time. Both the stage and the audience area are fully covered and performances are staged whatever the weather.

The mobile Salzkammergut lake stage Wolfgangsee
Architect Prof. Eduard Neversal is building the new mobile Salzkammergut Lake Wolfgangsee stage in spring 2024. Situated in front of the historic vacation resort in the St. Gilgen district of Ried, the venue is close to the Falkensteinwand, the original location of the Wolfgang legend, so to speak. The world premiere of the musical play Wolf-Das Mystical on 23 May 2024 will open up a new cultural dimension in the Wolfgangsee region and also mark the brilliant opening of the stage. This future venue for regional and international cultural events will give Austria a new lakeside stage between Bregenz and Mörbisch, which will also be completely covered. Around 8,000 visitors are expected in the first season from May 23 to June 24, 2024.
