The monochrome of color plays an essential role in John Petschinger's work cycle "COLOR PANELS". In the exhibition "FERTILIZED", John Petschinger expands these with two series of works and thus shows different similarities, connections and excerpts from these series. In his works, he repeatedly plays with emotions that the individual images and colors trigger in the viewer, but also in himself. He is not concerned with the emotion itself, but rather Petschinger delves deep into the question of "why".

With "FERTILIZED", the artist combines three work cycles into one complete work. His aim is to find connections and parallels in his work that are just as diverse as the different perspectives and views on life itself. In its pure translation, "Fertilized" means "fertilized" or "fertilizing". In a figurative sense, he associates it with fast pace or acceleration and thus corresponds to his endeavor to present different series of works together and to show unexpectedly different similarities, even if these are often only excerpts of the whole.
He thus associates a parallel with our fast-paced world, which often conveys to us that what we see in the lives of others is supposedly better and more successful. We often forget that this is usually only a snapshot and a section of reality and the overall view.
The exhibition includes large-format works on metal, canvas and paper. It shows the interplay of his "COLOR PANELS", "BLACK PAINTINGS" and documentary photographs from the perspective of his studio, shown for the first time.
